Lisa--Yes, it does fly in the face of reason--but believe me, there are LOADS of teachers who don't like to help (AND PRINCIPALS), and in fact are quite resentful when asked to. Contract schmontract--if our teachers were doing so much, and changing and updating their lesseon plans and curriculums on a yearly basis or staying after on a regular basis to work or our test scores were stellar or even if our school was a place the kids LIKED going to and a place we could take pride in, then yes I'd be willing to cut some slack. But when I hear our teachers say they do so much already...
it makes me steam!
I just find it interesting that those who are so unwilling to not help and the loudest to say they shouldn't have to are the ones who do the least, period.
