Characterade - Take Home a Video Weekend

19 years 11 months ago #72015 by CAMom
Characterade videos are very similar to religious education videos. They seem more appropriate for Sunday school or private religious schools--public schools might have some challenges from the community. Just be well informed if you use them in public schools. The kids seemed to have mixed reviews--too babyish, etc.

We did this last year. I think they had a return rate of about 30%. My kids weren't to high on the movies (I had a 3rd grader and kindergartener).

Also they called me forever wanting me to buy more videos.

Our Principal gave us information and a video to watch from a group called Characterade.

It is a program that is free for your school. The Videos or DVD's are based on character and responsibility education for children.

Each family gets a video or dvd to take home for the weekend to watch together (free of charge). Each family can return the video on Monday or pay $10 for it to keep it. Also on Monday the teachers are given materials to discuss the movie with the kids. The school is not held responsible for any videos damaged or not returned.

Their website is www.Schoolsdvd.com

Anyway...I am wondering if anyone has done this program and if so what kind of reception did you get to the movies?
