How many have a parent room for everyday use?

i guess we are fortunate as we have a pretty good size storage closet lined with shelves, have a seperate space for our school store to be in one location(new this year). And also new this year we have a new parent resource/volunteer room. we are waiting for bookshelves to come but it contains a table that we can eat or work on, a sitting area to read, and will have reference materials. It has been soooooo nice to go in there and fold flyers, eat lunch what ever! We have stick kids painted all around the wall(our mascot...get it pals) It has been a long haul but we have found that we are getting more respect every day and that we are being taken as a serious part of our school!

I have been begging at our school for space also. We have just been given a very small space to keep stuff, so at least it will all be accesable to all on the board. An actual work room would be wonderful!!

I guess we got lucky. We use the basement. We store all of our stuff in there, and do our things for the teachers down there. We even had a copier until it broke down. We used it to display our Santa Shop items in it until we decided not to do it anymore. Unfortunetly, there are only 2 of us who actually do anything "Parent room like" and I had to scale down my involvement because I became president at my daughter's school.

We have a tall supply cabinet, a set of short shelves for (reference material and PTO mail), and a file cabinet located in the Teacher Workroom. Beyond that, we have a bit of storage space here and there for our snow cone machine, T-Shirts, spring fling decorations, etc.

When we had excess classroom space (a portable), the school consolidated all our stuff there. When that space was returned to being a classroom, our stuff was scattered back into various nooks and crannies around the school - along with the school's items that had used that space.

No, we don't have a space of our own, but the school generously shares whatever scarce space it has.

All I want is a closet!! No chance, though. We are affiliated with a church so when we need to meet, we meet in one of their church buildings. That's where we have meetings, too. I suppose if that didn't exist, we could meet in the dining hall..

We are in the same boat as you are. I can't tell you how much stuff I have at my house. We have to beg for a classroom when we need to count money, etc... However, this year our school is really full. When both our yellow and blue tracks are on track there are NO classrooms available. Even the staged is used on tues & thurs for choir and band. We have a small partitioned space in the corner of our cafeteria to store stuff but absolutely NO work space. We have a new school being built nearby so maybe in a couple of years when things have shifted and adjusted we will get a room. Oh, but then I won't be there anymore.
