Programs targeted to girls

20 years 2 months ago #71700 by mum24kids
We have a number of programs that are open to girls and boys, but our counselor/principal has asked that we look into some girl things because of a number of issues that have come up with the girls. Besides, to be honest, I don't think any of us are aware of any that are targeted specifically to boys. If anyone knows of any, I'd be happy to look into them so I have some backup if I get flak from parents when we come out with the girl stuff.

What about the boys?

One of the teachers across town did a class for intersession. She had their hair and make up done and someone gave them tips on fashion. They were mostly 4th grade girls.

I'm looking at a few new programs to offer to girls later this year. Two of them are offered nationally; one is Girls on the Run (see www.girlsontherun.org); the other is Girl Power (see www.girlpower.gov/).

If anyone out there is doing either one, I would really appreciate any feedback you could provide. Thanks!
