Our PTO use to give each class (I think around 22 classes) $100.00 to be used towards their field trips. Last year was the first year we didn't. The PTO voted to stop it and use that money towards more Family Fun Night or other actvities for the Students. The classes still look like they are taking the same field trips. Last year I was asked for maybe $20 total all year for my two kids to go on field trips.

At our old school, the field trips were paid for out of the student activity fees. This amount usualy covered transportation.

At our new school, we pay cash, and parents do the driving.

Just wondering how many schools pay for field trips. Also, what is the dollar amount per child for the year? We are currently budgeting $10.00 per child, but are also thinking we need to raise it due to some district transportation fees.
