teacher participation

Our Pto meetings are held at 8:30am, much to my dislike. Of course teachers are not able to attend because they are in their classrooms teaching. There is a teacher rep. present at the meetings, however, I don't feel it is the same. I have from day one asked why Pto is not holding evening meetings and have been told that parent/teacher participation is no better at night. Plus, the people that show up reguarly to the meetings, who are the heart of the Pto, find it more convenient to meet in the mornings. I am wondering how other schools set up their meetings and how their turnout is? Our turnout is about 20 people, including principal, assistant principal and teacher rep.

I guess I'm very lucky! This year we have 4 teachers as chairs and we have 4 teacher reps. All of these teachers come to all meetings and help support us all year in everything we do.
