E-mailing other forum users?

I love it when other forum users email me. Makes me feel special. I do like though when there is a subject line filled in.

I kind of like the fact that my email is not available because my email has my name in it and I do not want my name known. Are there any others who feel this way?

Experimenting with some things ahead of an upcoming forum upgrade. Have had quite a few problems with misuse of the publicly available email addresses. In progress...

I noticed that a long time ago too. It is helpful to have it there especially when someone makes a request and doesn't leave their e-mail address.
But I have kept my e-mail address public and aside from a scant few spams, I haven't even gotten any hate mail (which is surprising since on occasion I may appear to piss some people off, being so pro-PTA and all )

What happened to the feature where registered forum users could email others? In my profile, it used to be set up so that my email address wasn't publicly available, but other registered members could email me through the board. Now no one seems to have that email box available next to their name to contact them, and I don't see that same option available anymore when I go to update my profile. Did I miss something?
