Our school has been hit 2 times the past month with a virus, and unfortunetly its getting to our pto email also. Fortunetly I'm on to the sneaky lil things cause it tends to come in bulk. Its challenging thou to know for sure because its a open email. I feel yer pain
I'd like to encourage any of you that are sending direct emails to me or to each other (or anyone for that matter)to be very descriptive in your subject lines.
There are so many viruses right now and "spoofing" has become commonplace. (Spoofing is when the email steals someone's "from" address so it looks like the message came from someone else - possibly someone you know.)
I get 4-6 virus-laden emails per day. My software screens it, but I'm not even going to open messages with subject lines that just say "Hi", "Help", or some other ambiguous phrase.
It's a shame, but we need be very careful. (And please make sure you have up-to-date virus protection on your computer.)
