I know our school district contacted many local colleges about any computers they might be able to donate. From what I read in the paper, they recieved a tremendous response.
What state are you in, and how far do you want to upgrade your PC's? I can point you to the appropriate agencies for state and federal surplus property for free and deeply discounted PC's, Monitors, and other items. PC's are usually pentium PC's and are offered to schools and other designated groups (state agencies, Boy Scouts, certain other non-profits) before they are sold to the public. There are a few other ways to get 25 computers as well; email me above for more details; I'll try to help as I can!!
If others are interested as well, I'll post the list that I have.
Our school is poverty level. We have approximately 450 students, 21 classrooms, and our computer lab consist of about 20 computers. We are in dire need of new computers. The PTO could probably afford some but I doubt we could get the 20-40 we need. My kids have to go out of the classroom to take AR test. Since AR is often used as a partial grading system for reading I would like to see some good computers installed.
My question: Does anyone know of any organizations that may help us? One of our local banks is supposed to give us a few. If we could get 10 or 20 that would really help.
