I have been elected as PTO treasure for our school. When I came in no taxes had been filed for the previous year. I called the state and they zeroed out the account and stated no taxes were collected and we are taken care of for last year. I would like to see things done right but I can't get a straight answer twice on what forms need to be filed, what taxes were are to pay and what taxes we were are to be collecting. If PTO pays sales taxes when they purchuse do we need to charge our consumers sales tax? Any input would be greatly appriciated.
