I found a site: freethingsforeducators.com it lists things like Waffle Day; National Hug day etc. It hasn't been updated past August but it might be worth checking out anyway.

I don't know if "It's Elementary" has made their calendar yet, but every year they have one in the back of their catalog with some really fun dates. (such as "Save a Spider Day")
