Principal's Day

I am considering giving a card to each advisory (or studyhall, or math, etc) class and have each of the chldren sign it. Presenting it to the Principal the 1st day of Appreciation week 5/2 would be thoughtful. This is for a middle school.

We're just going to do staff appreciation week and focus on a 'work group' each day... teachers, custodial staff, cafeteria, office & resource staff, and friday (which is a half day), the principal.

Actually, there is a book called "Chase's Calendar of Events". It's about 2 1/2 inches thick and yes it lists everything under the sun. I use it to plan special events at work and it does have some neat celebrations.

You should be able to get it at your local library.

As a previous poster also stated, we do not do anything specifically for "Principal's Day" or whatever the greeting card companies are calling it now... We do all our appreciation on one day and call it "Staff Appreciation Day" for a number of reasons.

1. Getting volunteers to step up- limited volunteer supply.

2. Everyone seems to have a day now and it is getting out of hand (my opinion) - where is PTO appreciation day?

Pretty soon there will be, custodial staff day, school aides day, guidance conselor day, Superintendants Day....you get the picture. Acknowledge everyone all together... a lot easier.

my 02 cents!
P.S. I bet there is a calendar out there somewhere with all the "days' listed for everything...I bet if we read it, we would all laugh..

To clear up some of the confusion I believe that Principals Day is a Date, compare it to Halloween or Christmas. Whatever day it falls on that's the day, it's isnt like staff appreciation or Thanksgiving that goes by a week or like the second Wednesday of the month. That explains why it falls on Sunday this year...hope this helps

I came across a website today that said it's May 1st as Kelley had said. How can you appreciate a principal on a Sunday? I think we'll just incorporate him into our teacher appreciation week events.
