Do any of your districts observe "Take Your Children to Work" day in the summer? And is it emphasized? I believe this started as "Take Your Daughter to Work" day and is technically in April. But then people felt it wasn't fair to exclude the boys. And due to attendance/funding issues and to lessen class disruptions, many schools asked their parents to observe this in the summer rather than on a school day.
Some of our school districts around here use July 17th, and my offices is planning a pretty fun day for visiting children. (Naturally, in this day and age, the Legal Department has been consulted on every single idea. Oh well, such is life!)
Anyway, I wondered if and when your areas do this and what activities you may have had.
