The California State PTA has opposed Assembly Bill 2160. This bill would have allowed the teachers union to negotiate most every school issue (including parent involvement) The California PTA will support this bill if it is amended. This is a bad bill and should not be supported at all. Most other school employee groups have opposed the bill as well as most major newspapers in the state. Contact the PTA at www.capta.org and let them know their job is to represent parents not Wayne Johnson president of the teachers union.
