Hi, I too am a Family Childcare Provider. I have been in business for 4 years and have been an active member of the PTO for 3 years and now this 4th year I am President. I am active in my son's baseball league and I am treasurer and on the board of my son's youth football league. Since I work full time I don't get as many chances to get into the schools to help in te rooms as I would like but work is not optional on my budget. I think that there are alot of very caring wonderful family childcare providers that go above and beyond when it comes to the kids in the community, but I also think that there are alot of wonderful volunteers that AREN'T providers too. Best of luck with your banquet. I am also in the process of forming a daycare providers association in my county and our first meeting is this Oct.24th. Now that we are required to have credit hours in training each year myself and another daycare provider are organizing this so that the trainings can be local instead of us having to travel. I live in a fairly small community.

Hi I am a member of my schools PTO and also a dedicated Family child care provider for many years. I am in the process of completing the first Annual Provider Banquet in my area and need your help. Many providrs are also PTO moms , Foster parents, coaches, And scout leaders. WE care for and teach children from birth to age 10. We are activly persuing our educations and interests to provide top quality to the children in our community. With this in mind, I would like to see us work together. It would mean a great deal to my profession, if at our banquet, scheduled for nov 3rd that a rep from my local PTO present the active PTo providers with a certificate to just reaffirm a special thanks to the providers who go that extra to run our own programs and still manage to care enough to be PTO members and civic leaders. I hope every area of the country will take a moment to consider the role familiy child care plays in our lives. Thankyou
Stefflynn
