These conferences sounds great. Does anyone
know of any happening this year in the
New York area or how I could find out if
one was going to be held in New York
Thanks
Hi neighbor - no I've never heard of this Parent Involvement Conference, sponsored by TEA but I'll pass the information along so others that may be interested - can check it out if they so desire. We're up in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and maybe a few may want to just get away for a few days and see what it's all about - ya never know.
Hi JHB,
I'm not a fellow Texan, but PA is having something similar in October also. Ours is a Parent Awareness Training Conference, which is jointly sponsored by several PA agencies. The website is: www.pafpc.org/conference/conference.htm
Our school district has invited the PTO officers from our 3 elementary centers to attend. Unfortunately I don't know a whole bunch about it, but 3 of us from my board plan to attend.
Sorry I couldn't give you any first hand info.
Jo

The 6th Annual Parent Involvement Conference is plannned for October 18-20 in Corpus Christi. It's sponsored by Texas Education Agency (TEA). The website is www.implanners.com/texasparents/
Fellow Texans: Have any of you been to this in previous years? Anyone planning to go this year? The early bird registration fee is only $85 (deadline 9/7). It's at the Bayfront Plaza Convention Center. The conference rate for the hotel (a luxury shoreline property) is $75 per night.
I'd appreciate comments from any of you who might be familiar with this conference.
