We have been celebrating Staff Week for about four years now and wouldn't change a thing! We keep it simple spending most of the money on serving them lunch that we cook for them! FUN!! Parents donate salads ect. and I have BBQed for everyone (even 8 months preggers!) which was great!

We decided this year to recognize ALL faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. This way we will never forget someone in the faculty or overlook a special day, i.e., "Counselor's Day" or "Nurse's Day", etc. Our appreciation week will include everyone from principal to cafeteria workers, to teachers to custodians. I'll let you know how it works out!

No question is ever dumb:) Secretaries Day is Wednesday, April 26th (tomorrow)...some people like to think of it as a week long celebration though.....
This year our PTO is recognizing our wonderful secretary by giving her a gift certificate to her favorite lunch spot. Because we do not have a nurse this lady plays many different roles in our school...she is the only person besides the principal that is the office staff...she "mother's" our kids when needed, she is our nurse, she never gives us a minutes grief with all of the pto stuff that finds it's way to her desk. As a pto we feel that she deserves seperate recognizition for what she does...because in our case she goes way beyond the call of duty for our kids and our organization:)
For secretaries and nurses day we give a small bouquet of flowers and a card. We keep these rather low key. However we do a BIG staff appreciation week that accknowledges everyone. We used to do more for Nurses and Secretaries day, however it was so much work for the staff appreciation committee. Also we found that it was hard to accknowledge just two staff members so much, when all our staff members are so worthy. We would rather be more inclusive.
