David Squillacote is sadly mistaken. I don't think I am permitted the time to hit everyone of his points. To begin with, there was no Mrs. Markle. The woman is Betty Martini and she DID speak at the Conference. She has rebutted all of this man's points with true facts.

The original manufacturer used to support just about every possible organization. About a year ago, NutraSweet was sold to another company. I will carefully check out the site you suggested and get back to you.

I saw your original post, it was quite long. The site I listed was not a "pro-aspartame" site, but rather the MS society site, which I doubt is paid for by diet soda manufacturers.

Unfortunately, my original post was shortened so much, someone reading it can't begin to get the story. I have been researching diet soda for 15 years, after it nearly blinded my daughter. She was even diagnosed as having temporal lobe epilepsy, but after being hospitalized, she was told it was the diet soda. I am not blaming anyone -- just interested in alerting parents. The pro-asparatme sites are paid for by the manufacturer. If you want to hear it all, I can send you my original post.

As with any debate, there are two sides to the aspartame debate. Check out www.msfacts.org/aspartame.htm for another side.

(I have no opinion one way or another because I never heard of the problem before.)
