We also have a full day the 22cd of December but do not return until January 8th. We are on a modified schedule now that begins the year on August 14th and has a fall break of one week beginning October 30. We will also have two weeks off in the spring, ending our year the first week on June. There is always a reason for the vacations being short or long. Last year we had three weeks off a Christmas to buffer the 'new year' expectation of massive power failure. The only 'melt down' that happened was in every home that had their kids home for three weeks straight in the middle of winter. Ü
Beginning and end of year might be interesting reference points as well. We are in Texas, and ours are:
School starts 8/14
Winter Break 12/20 (early release on 12/19)
Spring session starts 1/3
Last day of school 5/23
I believe our state law requires 180 days of instruction.
Didn't really know where to put this question but I'm interested in knowing other school's schedule for these couple of weeks in December. We have a full day on Friday the 22nd and then we're back for a full day on Tuesday the 2nd. That seems like a short break compared to what I remember. What do your schools have?
