Here is a little suggestion we passed along to our great parents who save all this stuff for us....Get a magnet and put it inside of a Ziploc bag and hang it on the fridge. When it is time to turn them in use a permanent marker and put your child's info on it. This way if your child's water bottle happens to leak on the way to school you don't have to turn in soggy box tops....(as you can tell I have had this experience happen not once but twice:-o)
Our school reaps many benefits with collecting box tops, labels, receipts, printer cartridges, etc. Parents can get overwhelmed with all that they should save! Our school made up a "Saver Envelope" which is a 6x9 envelope with a stuffer of what the PTO collects. On the outside of the envelope is a recycling logo with a "save, separate, & send" jingle. This way, parents save all the paper "stuff" in the envelope, then send the envelope to school so the kids can drop off the paper "stuff" in our "Saver Bins" that separate all these things ready for the chair person to pick up. Our receipts have really increased since we've instituted this simple way to help parents and chair people to keep organized.
