Good Luck!!! The first thing you have to do is get the other parents behind you then you need to set up bylaws that include provisions to safeguard against unaccounted for transactions. If one of your parents is an accountant, they could get a fianncial system in place for you that would provide proper audit trails and should satisfy the principal. I would suggest detemining who wants this and going to the school with a formal proposal of what you want to do and how it will be done.
Another mother and myself have just moved to our new school. A couple of years ago there was missing money with the PTO so the principal of the elementary took over everything and has never allowed our school to have a PTO again. Are there any suggestions on how we can once again get our school interested in starting a PTO?
Any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated!
