Thanks so much for the advice. I will try exactly what you suggested and see how it goes.

Karen: I know exactly what form you are filling out. You are referring to question #10c. correct? The attachment I used for that question was our by laws and we had absolutely no problem. We do not have any articles of association. If you need further help or would like to check this out personally, call 1(877)829-5500 that is the non-profit section for the IRS. When I called they were always more than helpful.
All the paperwork gets overwhelming but it will work out in the end. Good Luck

The IRS application requires both the Articles of Association AND the bylaws. I am desperate to find out how the Articles should be worded.

Karen - Articles of Association are your by laws. If your organization doesnt have any please visit the site entitled Roberts Rules of Order.

Tax Exempt Status was created by Karen
Our PTO is trying to gain tax exempt status. I have been putting together all the necessary paperwork but have encountered a roadblock. The IRS requires "Articles of Association" to accompany the application. Does anyone know what exactly these "Articles" look like? We would love to have this process complete before we have to pay sales tax on our fall fundraiser.
