Selling school spirit wear is a fantastic "hidden" fundraiser. I just returned from the National PTA Trade show as an exhibitor, showing our line of school spirit wear. While this might look like a commercial, our "out the door" price is only $3.95 for a Youth TShirt with a school logo. As a school, we have no art, setup or shipping costs. Just the cost of the shirts. You can check us out at www.ExpressTees.com
or call us toll free for details. 800-997-4478
Most schools make between $500 and $1500.00 on a good sportswear sale.
We have a school spirit chairperson who sells the shirts along with any other volunteers she can round up. We sell them at Kindergarten registration, Open House, Carnival and at miscellaneous events through out the year. Some kids use them to have their friends sign on at the end of the year instead of or along with their yearbook. I don't think there is a whole lot of profit but it spreads School Spirit. The kids are supposed to wear their shirts on Fridays and on field trips.
This year we sole sweatshirts, golf shirts and denim shirts with our school name and logo embroidered on them. We didn't really do it as a fundraiser because the shirts alone cost more than t-shirts (which we did last year).
We are in the process of starting to sell sweatshrits, sweatpants, etc. at the school this coming fall. Can anyone tell me how that is helped at your school and what your procedures are as far as when you sell then and who is in charge of the selling.
