It's been my experience that recruiting is a one-one thing. Between you and your current board you can probably come up with 8-12 most likely candidiates. How about each of you take 2-3 of those people out for a coffee and just have an open-ended discussion (with a recruiting pitch, of course ).
Can you tell I work as corporate recruiter when I'm not a PTO president?
Our group is getting ready to send out an information package with volunteer opportunities for next year. 3 out of 4 of our board positions are open for next year. We have a wonderful group of committed volunteers running our sub-committees, but so far no one has expressed interest in the board positions. I am convinced that there are qualified parents out there, but am unsure if we are reaching them. Any tips/ advice?
