A Tears & Cheers (or Boohoo/Yahoo) event is a great way for parents to connect with each other at the start of the school year. It may also be fun to o a few giveaways of small prizes, like t-shirts or even $5 gift cards for coffee. You could try a fun/casual game of trivia to do the giveaways. Other than that, I wouldn't do too much to organize it. Better to give parents a chance to casually chat with each other! :)
Hello all! I'm planning my first Tears & Cheers for our school (not our school's first.. just my first time chairing it). What ways have you all made it fun in the past? I'd like to get the parents talking with each other. Do you facilitate games or activities to keep it interesting? Or keep it casual and come/eat/go?
