You sound like a very caring and thoughtful room mom! One thought: You could try sending a quick message (email/text) to this child's parents to let them know about the project and if it is ok to send her home with a decorated pumpkin.
Hi all! I have a question that I am hoping I can get help on.
I am Room Mom to my son's class and, his teacher and I are planning a fun day for Halloween, HOWEVER, we have one child in the class that does not celebrate. Her parents have always been adamant that she can participate in every class activity regardless of their religion. They do not want her missing out, or being singled out. I think that is amazing that they are so open, and letting her have fun.
So my question is...we were going to do pumpkin painting as an activity, and something the kids can take home. They aren't going to be done jack-o-lantern style just something fun. As a parent who does not celebrate does this sound like something that would be acceptable for her to bring home?
