We are a very small row boat with some rowing a lot more frequently than others, but our teachers help out quite often. We have kept our enrollment up finely with late enrollees. I too wish we were a cruise ship.
We are a row boat-- with only a few rowing away and staying afloat to make it all work-- I would love to be a cruise ship with more passengers than I would know what to do with--
Oh my - we are a Carnival Cruise Ship. (more like a zoo)... Our enrollment has increased every year. When my child first started at this school 4 yrs ago there were about 500 students; this year there are close to 800. It keeps growing every year... I'm learning how to juggle quickly! =)
In the days before school starts I am blessed to get all the teachers in one room for a quick run down of what PTO's intentions are this year.
In our school enrollment is WAY down. We are about 45 kids short of meeting our budget, and have had to cut staff, and create hectic schedules. It is bleak, but not impossible. Losing students means losing parent volunteers as well, we are all in the same boat.
