We purchased a red carpet to use for our Teacher & Staff Appreciation Luncheon and we sprinkled it with gold stars. Everyone got to walk the red carpet as they entered the lounge to eat a catered lunch. The gold stars ended up scattered all over the room and all over the hall on the first floor of the school. I even ended up with a few in my house! When we pulled the red carpet up, the sticky tape used to adhere it to the floor left sticky tape marks on the linoleum floor. I wonder who will get down on their hands and knees to clean that up!
Yikes! For teacher appreciation week we made paper stars with staff names on them and made a "walk of fame" around the halls. We used contact paper to adhear them so they'd stay down all week with kids walking on them. (Just regular clear shelf-paper, nothing heavy duty.)
We peeled them up this week and the contact paper left a rectangle with a star shape on the carpet for each one where the contact paper touched the carpet!! Luckily the school's getting new carpet this summer and there are only three weeks of school left, otherwise I'd have no idea how to get this off and the principal would have my head. I don't recommend this to anyone!!
