The file exchange truly is a wonderful resource and the amount of files is growing. I uploaded several today. The current version works really well and it was easy to do.
A couple of "gotchas" or perhaps requests for the future.
1) The only weak point to me is that there doesn't appear to be any way to simply preview the files before downloading. Perhaps that's a technology limitation, but I wish I could browse the file itself to view it before actually downloading. However it's not a bid deal to delete the extra files.
2) The short description limit is 150 characters (which is stated) but the entry box doesn't limit typing to 150, so when it displays, it just cuts off at that point.
3) When I accidentally tried to submit without selecting categories, I got a warning and and had to fix that before I could proceed. So that's good. But later when I accidentally hit ENTER before finishing my email address (a required field), it processed - BUT it never posted, I suspect because the email validation failed. (What I entered was just two letters; so not enough format that it could even pass an email format test.)
But even with these minor quirks - it's a great resource. Lots and lots of starter files to save everyone a lot of time.
I'd encourage everyone to check it out and to share some of their documents.
This is definitley my favorite new tool on the site, and now it's even better. Kudos to Kathryn Lagden from the PTO Today team for making the Exchange even better!
