Does her superintendent know she's doing this? That is not what the PTO is for she is basically asking you for a loan. And why are all her funds dried up and she can't ask the school for more in her budget or doesn't she want them to know how much she spent.
I would be very careful with this one. And I would say you definitely need a vote on this one.
Good Luck

Her student activity fund has a zero balance, which she claims that she wasn't aware of. She is being charged fees by the bank - blah, blah, blah. She said that she would run a fundraiser in the fall to pay the money back, but that would interfere with our fall fundraiser.
why does she need the money? I would have a talk with her directly and aslo point out that this is a matter that needs to go before your whole group, this needs a vote, you can not and should not give this okay.

This is just another example of how the 2006-2007 school year went. The PTO was mistreated the entire school year, and now our principal needs to borrow several thousand dollars from us. I can't even believe that she would have the audacity to ask the PTO for the money. She had other people call me at home and on my cell phone. She couldn't even make the phone call herself. The saga continues!
