Flaming Mad

I just need to vent for a moment. I'm the PTO President at my son's school, and I just heard today that our science and music departments are being cut for the upcoming school year. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET!!!!!!

This year has already been hectic due to major restructuring of our school system. Twenty one schools were closed and many people were laid off all over the district. Our school got 150 more new students in the 2006-2007 school year due to those closings, and our wonderful principal was forced to go to another school.

I'm not even supposed to know this information yet, but I have shared it with several parents. I will tell as many parents as I can tomorrow and the next. I want parents to call the school board, write letters, send emails, etc. How far do you think I should go since I am a leader at the school? People are going to expect me to handle the situation. I want to try to save our music and science programs, but I don't want to go too far. Should I get the media involved? Should I ask our students to write letters? Help!
