Hey, Mr. Pres, I'm from Pittsburgh, PA as well. I've been the PTO President for 2 years now. I agree that there should be a lot more parental involvement in the schools as well as more community involvement. This has been a struggle for years in most school districts. Welcome to you. PTO Today is a great resource, and it has been a great help to me.
Great to see a new face and you will find tons of info on this board it has been a great help to me in many ways.

Well, hello MrPres. It's wonderful to have you here! Your school is blessed to have you on their team. I think you'll find a wonderful group of people here at PTO Today from the resident experts who keep an eye on us and keep us on the path to the regular and casual posters who are always so willing the help, share and learn. Welcome aboard!

I am the PTO VP for my kids school. I am new to PTO but not new to the needs of our children. It is my prayer that we all will be able to share valuable information with one another to continue positive progress, and improve in those areas lacking. There is definitly a need for more parental and community involvement in the school system for one thing or another. It's important to me that all 4 of my boys get everything that the educational process is supposed to give them and that they are taking advantage of all of them. speaking up about things they feel are not, but should be available. keep an open ear to what they are saying and make sure the board address these issues. Again it is a pleasure to join the PTO family. I am looking forward to caring and sharing with you all. Peace and blessings in all your endeavors!!!
