I noticed that it sorts by date, but it sorts the first event to the bottom instead of sorting it to the top. Is there a way to make it sort the other way?

The events list now sorts by date order. The new user manual will explain all of this and should be out next week. You are correct that you can change the sort order by clicking on the column heading
To edit the page you are referring to you must go into edit mode and the hit the navigation link on the left side. Then you need to select "view site as volunteer" under volunteer module manager and go to events. This is fairly high level - feel free to call us at 800-557-2670 if you need help.
How do I edit the text on the Events page? Am I able to edit this? Here is how it reads now:
"The list below shows all the scheduled events for our school. If you're interested in helping at an event please let the event leader know. If you have been assigned to an event you can click the 'view my tasks' link to review your assignment (s)."
I want to add a note that says that if you click on 'Event Details' the list will resort. Right now the default has the most current event sorted to the bottom. I thought adding the AA, BB, etc as suggested in the user guide would solve this but it didn't.
