I have all events setup as a general interest also, then volunteers can signup that way curently?
I just put it together the other day, havent have time to test my theory.
Maybe a few custom fields (saw on another post) for the interest/ resource section

Yeah--me too. We actually put out on our website that people could do this, because I, for some reason, thought that was an available feature. Then I had to yank that line--ooops.
I just wanted to toss out there if anyone else is looking for this; as I am.
I would love for my volunteers to log on to the volunteer manager site and sign themselves up for a particular event; rather than send out an email and wait for responses.
Of course the emails are nice and they would probably still be used; but it would save volunteer coordinators time if the volunteers could sign themselves up to an "open" slot for an event.
