Monday was the Philly conference. It was my first conference. Wow. Wow, wow, wow.
I came home with 23 pages of notes and a bag full of goodies and ideas.
I seriously don't even know where to begin. It's one of those things that sounds great until you get there and then you realize that it's not just great, it's AWESOME.
The vendors were good. Lots of vendors. We did pick up a lot of new ideas and information there.
The highlights were most definitely the workshops. (Can I say WOW again??) I was feverishly scribbling notes the entire way through all four workshops. I literally have a hundred ideas for our Home & School.
Our monthly meeting was last night, and the conference was approved to be added to our annual budget. It was THAT good.
We came away from the conference with a whole new newsletter idea, ideas for LOTS of parent involvement that will cost the HSA *very little* money but reap great rewards, I could seriously go on and on and on.
Another important thing we came away with is a great big pat on the back. Being a leader isn't always easy or fun. But just being surrounded with people in the same position... definitely a huge comfort!!
I guess my bottom line is that if you're not sure if you should go, YOU SHOULD!! Words are failing me in how beneficial this conference was!!!!!!!
