The Dallas show was awesome. This was my first time at a conference, and I have to say it was even more than I imagined!! Our board had such a great time, and we learned so much. We are looking forward to the next conference and hoping it is just as close to us as Dallas was. I definitely plan to attend another. Toody Bird was hillarious, what a great way to start Saturday off.
Anyone thinking about going to the shows in the other areas, I strongly recommend them.
What a great job the PTO Today people did!!
KBryant, come to Dallas!! We came from Arkansas (about 6.5 hours), but it was sooooo worth it. Those Texas moms rock! Hello to the Boerne crew and Terri in El Paso, JBH, and all the others we met.
Tim, you and your crew outdid yourselves. You had wonderful speakers, discussion leaders and the exhibit hall was wonderful. We've already changed our officers' election so that our new officers will be able to go next year.
I didn't get a chance to put this on the evaluation, but here's my two cents. I wouldn't mind the sessions going a little later in the evening to have more time in the exhibit hall. I know I was always running late. (My personal problem!)
One other suggestion I would like to make is including a list of all participants of the show in the check-in information. I usually get one at conferences I go to and it helps me to remember who is who.
Had a blast. Can't wait for next year. PtoQueen, let me know if any accounting jobs open in Boerne! I would love to join your PTO!
Great to see everyone in Dallas. The thanks should be going to you -- your ideas and participation (and, yes, plenty of enthusiasm!)make these events work so nicely.
Kbryant -- you're killing me! Future years? We're still trying to recover from Dallas and get ready for New England (and PA and Midwest). Seriously, though, there are a ton of factors in choosing locales, including size of city, facility fit, timing and a lot more. If we look to expand the Shows even further, I'd imagine something Southeast or West might be on the list.
I hope you can join us in one of our upcoming cities. In Dallas, we had folks from Colorado, Oklahoma, Alabama, Louisiana and Arkansas. The geographic variety adds even more helpful perspectives to the conference.
I would love to go to one of the PTO Shows! Is there any possibility of one coming to the Kansas City area in future years? How are locations determined? Just wondering.
What can I say.......WOW!!! Our whole PTO board were very impressed with the meeting, also. The vendors were great, speakers were awesome (Loved Tootie Byrd!) We made a lot of friends and contacts.....Hello Terry from El Paso, Cindy and Liz from Arizona lol I mean Arkansas!! Thank you so much Tim and staff!
As much as I dislike the "Mee TOO" type replies, I feel like I need to also say how much I also LOVED the show and can't wait until next year. My poor husband had to listen to me on the cell phone the WHOLE drive back home from the show AND then another 2 hours after I got home. I was just SO HYPED UP from everything, that I just couldn't stop.
KUDOS to the folks that organized the event! While there is always room for improvement, they started out in this city with a BANG!
There is so much more to write...but I'll stop here for now. For anyone still on the fence about attending one of these shows...don't hesitate. There is so much great information out there and all you need to do is be there!
