PTO Show Who is paying for it?

Just wanted to respond about who is paying for the PTO TODAY SHOW - I am the PTO President at our
Middle School and at our November meeting my treasurer and myself brought up about going and asked if the PTO would fund the tickets and hotel
cost. It was passed - so our PTO is paying for our
cost which we were very happy about - We explained that we were not only going to represent our school but the rest in the district.
We are one of the largest districts in the area with over 10,000. Once we return from the show we plan to put together a PTO/PTG/HSO advisory board and put a meeting together at our district office for all who want to come from the different boards from all the schools in the district and explain what we learned what information we collected and how we can all work together as a district to make our PTO/PTG/HSO the best ever.

On another note: I was wondering how many from the Central New York and surrounding New York
areas are going to be attending the Show in
April in Philadelphia?

I am the treasurer of our PTO and this is the first year that the officers expressed interes in going to the PTO Show. We brought it up at our monthly meeting and our members were very supportive of us going and approved the PTO paying for all 4 officers to go. The officers are paying for travel and the hotel. Our principal spoke up and stated that when the teachers and staff at the school want to go to workshops that the school pays the registration fee and the teachers pay for any other expenses. I think this helped the members agree to everything so easy.

Good luck!

I don't think that's an unreasonable request. If they couldn't pay all, maybe split cost, or cover airfare or something. Doesn't hurt to ask! :)

I am a new President and finding this web site to be such a great guide. I would love to go to the PTO Show with my officers. Would it be unreasonable to ask our PTO to pay or support this misson?
