ustually for school business matters the order is:
principal
superintendent/school district lawyer
the board of education
the state department of education (they have a help desk for questions)
otherwise, you can get info through the usual channels of getting answers to legal matters.
we did have a meeting to discuss this problem and decided to remove all our belonging. Then they told us that we couldn't have no more fundraiser on there campus, and we couldn't use the children to sale anything for us. I'm new at this and need some information about what he can do and what right do the PTO have concering the matter, can anyone tell me who to call or write too?
Where are the members when this is being discussed? Would it be appropriate to list this "ultimatum" on the agenda for the members to decide and vote on what needs to be done? Isn't that what members are for? Besides, these decisions do fully affect the organization.
Not being rude......just asking.
you are right they want us to run it and they get 75% of the profits and we get 25%,and I don't think that right because we're doing the work and they get the glory. Then they goes to say all the money will be receipted into the office after each home game. A money box with the correct change ($100) will be provided at home games. The locks on the concession will be changed. Only schoolnpersonnel will have the key.One person wil be designated to order food for the concession. The purchasing of this food will be made with a school check. No fundraising events willnbe allowed W/O administration approval. The concession profits will be divided 75%to Saratoga Athletics & 25% Saratoga pto. Saratoga PTO will be provided a "wish List' of needed items that th Saratoga Elem. & high School would like to be donated by the PTO. HE want to deposit the money in the school account, so he can have a say so on how it is spent. And i'm the President of the PTO and would be the one ordering the food but would't be allow to go pick it up or have akey to the concession stand. What WE decided to do is to give them the concession stand and moved all of our equipment out and let them start from stracth. HE also told us if we take it off campus we can't use the kids for any of our fundraisers.
I guess it depends who "owns" the concession stand and whose property it is on. If it is a school event and school property and they are the event organizer then I would say they can take on the concessions. If it is your event and their property, they can still take on the concessions. If it is your event and your property then you don't have to relinquish your control (but I doubt this is the case). I would hope there'd be a middle ground because I suspect they need your help to run it don't they?
We have a problem at our school the PTO runs the Concession stand at the School, have every since the school been there, now that we annexed with another school district. They want to take control of it now, legally can they do so?
