i am sure i will find an authored quote for you!

in the meantime i can add my variation to Shawnfuscious' one: never act before talking (cuz chances are youve misunderstood the other side or have made faulty assumptions based on minimal information from the source or - heavan forbid - hearsay).

and, our country's leaders dont go to meet foreign leaders face to face for the frequent flyer miles...they go there for a reason. there IS no substitute for face to face communicaiton to build relationships and understand one another, and work things out. none whatsoever.

I've been saying it for DAYS to the kids USE YOUR WORDS!

It really just kills me how when a person asks questions and how can we work towards a solution versus demanding answers etc.

Just remember this great moment anytime you need to talk to any princpal.

Congrats highland Mom. Glad to hear it worked out well.

And as a side benefit you have started with a positive relationship with your Principal. Mutual trust and mutual respect really go a long way to making a group work well.

In Lieu of <aok> Shawnfuscious say

“Words should be used as tools of communication and not as a substitute for action"
or
“When all other means of communication fail, try words”
credit given 2 author (if I could remember)

Ooops forgot congrats!!!

That's excellent news highlandmom! Good for you. It's hard to go straight to the source sometimes because of the fear of the unknown. You just did the best thing you could for your team - threw the lines of communication wide open!

a OK - I know you're dancing in your chair right now. Throw one of your quotes on us!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

All is well with our little world. I had my meeting with the principal and we are going to work everthing out with the feild trip. Turns out I got some info from our former president that was not entirely true. So the principal and I had a nice talk and looks like we have a very peaceful and productive future. So glad that I listened TO all of your wonderful advice and went straight to the principal and not involve anyone else. THANKS
