Please Help! This past year we have been doing some regrouping, trying to make a better, stronger PTO and coming up with new ideas and activities to get the parents involved. We requested a meeting with our principal to go over some ideas for next year. She began the meeting by telling us that the school's fund raisers would no longer be sponsored by the PTO. In other words, all funds raised through fund raisers would now go into the school's general fund and the PYO has no say as to the way it will be spent. Needless to say the wind was blown right out of our sails. We've lost all of our enthusiasm to continue. Our principal has always been included in our PTO, but has been showing signs the past year of trying to run it completely and now she is going to have contol over the monies too. We have a very honest treasuer, and there has never been any mishandling of the money. We also have a strong group of women who have been working really hard and doing a good job. Does anyone else have this kind of problem, and if so, what is your advice.
