hey countrybumpkin, you are NOT alone, several of our parents have been crucified as well, and you hit the nail on the head with :
"...it is our goal to ensure the best education for our children, but on the other hand a good caring concerned parent can do that without being voluntarily crucified by the ones they are trying to help.
Now why in the world would I want to negotiate anything with any administration that has done this to any parent and organization.
So I eventually took the easy way out, walked away from the entire ugly mess, and now spend my energy volunteering for other needy organizations.
I hope everything will work out in the long run for that school, its parents, and children- but it will be without my input or help..."
One cannot, and should not, appease ones aggressors. ever. you have to do what is best for yuor children , as our parents too have done. And they too hope the best for the rest of the school and other kids.
Public school is about working together to achieve the ends of the education process, and if admin is adversarial towards parents, and parents dont take a stand as a majority and demand change thru the avenues of change, ie complaints to BOE and or state level, there are no other options but to find a better solution for the kids, on ones own, as you have done.
as footnote, the irony in our situation , about our admin, the adversarial ones among them, is that THEIR kids do not attend public schools, they are enrolled in private. that alone has caused alot of parents to question many things.
no vote of confidence if the ones that run yuor disstrict and school, dont put their kids there.
Anyway, good for you for having done whats best for your kids, and yourself!
