princpal involvment with PTO

I agree. Talk to the principal and tell her the situation. Even without her ok, you can still ask for the pres to resign, and you certainly should deal with the money situation immediately. If you don't act, you'll have the same situation we have right now: a PTO that no one wants to work with because of one person. Good luck.

I went through this last year. Check your bylaws. They will be your best guide. Regardless, I always feel it is importart to keep your principal informed of what is going on with your group. If you are having problems with the president, she should know. Keep in mind, your group is representative of your school and if someone is not behaving properly, they may just need to be reminded that their behavior needs to be changed and a principal can be a good person to do this. Also, if your president is not following money handling procedures, your group should have an emergency meeting to discuss what needs to be done to make sure that no mishandling is taking place. I had to deal with that too. The quicker you stop it, the better.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
