We have our own PTO for each school in our district. For us we do have our own fundraisers, but the one thing we have each year that all the schools participate in is a school district wide Chinese auction. Each school helps and participates by making baskets and all funds are split between the schools. For our high school this is pretty much the only fundraiser they do. Just because of the booster clubs for sports and other activites.

Hey Mama! I grew up 90 miles east of Omaha so totally remember the small k-12 school! My kids are lucky enough to attend a K-12 school here in Denver and we face the same issue.

For ever dollar I spend in one "school" I am asked what will the other two get! AUGH! Now I was lucky to have a President a couple years ago that helped me see (I was her Sec) a way tis can be done. The PTO became partners with the High School Student Council in helping them raise funds by having a Dress Down Day (we have uniform dress code) and a Crazy hair/Hat Day. The staudents aer asked to pay $1 to participate and their first year raised $2500! The kids were tickled to have their own money for Prom etc! The Middle School sold t-shirts that only Middles School could purchase- did gat some flak for that too but the elementary was also approved purchase of playground balls etc so the clammer slowed!

My mom summed it up best...My daughter is a ring leader and how she gets everyone to follow I will never know!! :D

We live in a small community in the midwest in which the elementary is attached to the high school and jr high school. All of our fundraisers are for the elementary, however we do involve the high school in ONE fundraiser, they get NO FUNDS from it though. I have just taken over the chairman of this board. I am getting flak from last year's president because I would like us to be strictly elementary (95% of volunteers are elementary parents, all of our funds raised goes to elementary, etc.). We have ran this organization with no objectives, no clear cut boundaries, it was just a free for all. Am I wrong in wanting to maintain it as a elementary group and build on that? The membership response is HORRIBLE. We actually did away with our dues so we could get people more involved hopefully. What do other schools do? HELP
