I do a flyer up for each PTO meeting. I word it like an invitation: YOU'RE INVITED... for October's meeting the font I used looked like dripping letters and I added a skeleton and a creepy house(for fun). Then I always add bring a friend and enjoy some refreshments. Nothing big, I make a pot of coffee, some cookies and a fruit salad. I also say that if you can't make it I can get them a copy of the agenda/finance report.
Or you could just say Parents Meeting instead of the group name. (Just saying Parents meeting instead of the group name for spanish flyer is especially helpful if you have non-english speaking parents. Get's a better turnout from them)
Thank u mum24kids but I am lost on how I should start the flyer. Should I do ATTENTION PArents, That sort of thing its like I want to do a reminder and only about 10 parents have email out of the 60 HELP PLEASE
I would just say "refreshments served" and not even note that such a bonus is not a regular thing. Sort of turns a positive into a negative right off the bat. If people come to your second meeting and are upset that there are no refreshments, that's an opportunity for them to start up a committee of people to bake for future meetings. Or just send around a sign up sheet at the meeting and have people take turns baking something.
Can some nice person in this forum please, give me so advice on how I should word our flyer regarding our first pto meeting and that we will be serving snacks this one time only.
