You know, I would still just met with them and see how they feel about the situation. You are so right how this could last a month or a whole year. In the meantime, I would include this person, just as you would weclome an overnight quest, he/she deserved the same welcome.
Questions about large issues or fundraising projects,I don't know. I suppose if you know a new principal is coming soon, hold off; any longer than 6 months not sure what to tell you but to ask the membership.
Many years ago my parents' church had an Priest that was only suppose to stay 6 months. That was 5 years ago! He JUST got his new assignment! He did thank everyone for making those six months the most welcoming in his career......I hope this can be done at your school.
This is something that I have not seen posted on here! Our principal of 3 years has been reassigned to the district; thus, an interim principal has been appointed to our school until the process of hiring a new principal can take place. School Council will have the honor of selecting our new principal in the near future ( I hope)! We worked hard the last 3 years to get the principal on our side for all the vital issues of an elementary school. Naturally, we had our disagreements, but overall, it was a very good relationship between PTO and principal.
Being that this new INTERIM principal really has no stake in our school, several parents seem to think that we will have to take a step backwards until a permanent replacement is assigned. Anyone out there ever have this problem at their school and if so, how did it work out?
