Have her run stuff through you before allowing it to be published...doesn't seem like too much to ask. The PTO secretary always runs the bulletin by me before she submits it to school because I'm a stickler for grammar and punctuation. That's part of my job and it makes the whole group look better if things come out right. Pitch it to her that way or that you want to make sure you've given her the right dates and times. Good luck.
How do I go about handleing this issue while keeping my cool?
Last month our first fundraisier was posted wrong on the calendar for the school. I was able to catch it in time to send home a new flyer and post posters to advertise the correct date. I talked to the person that made the calendar and she said "oops!"
This month not only is tonight's meeting on the calendar for tommorrow BUT another fundraiser has been schedualed on the same day as my event AND I had my date approved in May 2003! Did I mention I was asked to change my date and because I couldn't (and wouldn't) the Principal said to direct parent compliant's to me! If you remember the newsletter fiasco, that at least went home okay. whew!
The best yet, a teacher rep is upset with me for requesting a Saturday in May for our Fun Run instead of during the day while the kids have gym class. I did try to explain we have parents that want participate and would like to have this more of a family event. She still wasn't happy.
Back to my reason for posting, how can I help this person with the calendar issues we seem to be having? I thought about submitting a calendar with PTO events on it to her that have been approved. Trying not to get the Principal involved yet as it's more of a pain than a problem right now.
OH! No wonder I keep typing! It's late, sleep would be good. Any thoughts would be great.
