Keep in mind - Teachers spend a great deal of their own money for items needed in the classroom. If you check with a few teachers and find out what itesm would be appreciated (ie: Chalk, post it notes, red pens/pencils, manila filing folders, hanging files, paper clips, large clips to hold papers together, colored pencils, magnetic clips for the black board, etc.....) they would LOVE to receive those kinds of items from your PTO and PTO groups.
Just my two cents.
You can always wrap the item in pretty celephane, tie with school colors ribbon, and tie a note on the gift saying a cute phase.
In the past we have given each staff member a small gift. (Knick Nack. And we all know they don't need anymore of them!) This year we decided to buy each teacher a vase and ask each child to bring their teacher a flower that day. We will have volunteers at the doors handing out flowers that the PTO purchased in case someone forgot or couldn't afford one. Also we are planning to have snacks in the lounge twice that week. Peanut brittle with the saying "Anyway you break it, we think you're the greatest!" Also rice crispy treats with the saying "Snap, crackle, pop, we thin you're really tops! Hope this helps! We kind of stay simple for this week because we go all out in May!
hi guys, I'm in charge of staff appreciation this year and I was just wondering if anyone did anything for the staff during American Education week. We usually do a lunch. Last year we had our book fair around the same time and we let the teachers each chose a book for their classrooms and the pta paid for it. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Do room parents do anything for example? thanks, maggie
