Principals involvement-how important is it?

21 years 2 months ago #64517 by pals
Hi...I have to agree with C.Brooks. The relationship you have with your principal is very important. She/he can make things so much better for you or make it very hard to make things work. The principal is in charge of the school which means they watch out for EVERYONE. At times it may be difficult but there are times it can be ver rewarding also. I like to joke that the relationship I have with my principal is the biggest love hate relationship possible but in the long run she's there for us as much as possible and I consider myself very lucky for that. a example is last night after our first meeting it didnt go as well as I wanted and she stayed behind over 30 minutes to just talk and support me. I guess one way of looking at is that some schools don't have support and it shows!! Good Luck

OH YES. You need a good relationship with the principal. The principal is a great team member to have on board. She knows about the red tape stuff that you don't and she can make things go a lot easier for you or a lot harder for you.

I am a new co president of our PTO. The outgoing co-presesidents did not respect the principal, or her opinions. They said that her vote does not count any more than ours..which I totally understand; however, she is the principal...she knows what the school needs more than anyone. Shouldn't what she has to say be taken more seriously?

Please...HELP!
