Our Title I hires aides. There are 6 at our school, I don't know about the other schools. There is a lot of focus on reading, but the main objective is to help kids in need of any educational need.
It also staff a district Parent Liason
Your district should have a Title I director. Who can answer many of your questions.
I believe familylit.org has profiles of title one schools.
Our school is a school-wide Title 1 school. We currently spend our title 1 money on SRA programs. Our principle told us that we have to spend our money on reading related programs. Now I know that, in other schools, Title 1 money has been spent for things other than reading programs. Is this "reading related" requirement just for the Program at our school because that was how our grant was written? If so, can you change your Program from year to year?
