The thing that our teachers have appreciated most over the years is a pot-luck lunch.
Someone will organize parents and coordinate dishes with lunch times. They find a couple of parents to help serve and setup/cleanup. The teachers rotate through during their respective lunches.
We have done this several times, and it always gets a great response. Parents just bring in their dish (labeled with their name so they can get their dish back) and drop it off to parent volunteers in the morning. It usually goes pretty smooth, and the teachers love it.
We are a new PTO group wanting to let our teachers know that we value them, but finances limit us in the things we would like to do. I was wondering what kind things some of you have done in the past for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-10) that have been successful and low in cost. Your input will be valued as always. Thanks.
